Garden and Fortress of Napoleon in Brückenkopf Park Jülich

Along  its name, this park is famous with its napoleonic bridgehead, which was built since 19th century. This building with grass on top of the roof was used as fortification and built in napoleonic era when the french occupied the town.

Due to its political and military circumstances at that time, this small town which is located near Aachen, was fotified. The bridgehead was built and had length of 800 m and 300 m width. It was an important protection of passage over the rur river at that time. The fortress, as seen, was restored and very well maintained . Some times they still used it for special occasion such as festival in napoleon era, etc.
